Step 1: Sign Up For Facebook

You create a Facebook Business Page without having a personal Facebook account. So first of all, sign up on Facebook to create a personal account or log in to one if you already have. Don’t worry about the privacy of your personal information as it will not be visible on the business page.

Step 2: Select The Type of Page You Want to Create

  • Tap “Get Started” button on Business/Brand
  • Enter your business information:
    1. Your page name ( you may use your business name)
    2. Business category
    3. Address of your business
    4. Business contact number

You may choose whether you want to make this information public or only visible to your city or state. Once you’ve entered the above information, click “Continue”.

Note: By clicking “Continue” it will be supposed that you are accepting Facebook Pages, Groups, and Events Policies. So you should check it before proceeding.

Step 3: Add Pictures to Your Page

Post adding the details, Facebook will ask you to add a profile picture and cover photo for your Facebook business page. Keep in mind that your profile picture and cover are the first visual impression that your customers will interact with. So choose wisely. It is advisable that the images you choose align with your brand and business to make a good impact on your customers.

A wise choice for a business profile picture can be its logo or a short image of its signature offering. The idea is to make the page identifiable for its potential follower or customer. Similarly, select a cover photo and bingo! you’re almost set with your page. Facebook page’s profile picture displays at 170×170 pixels on computers, 128×128 pixels on smartphones, and 36×36 pixels on most feature phones and cover photo displays at 820 pixels wide by 312 pixels tall on your Page on computers and 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall on smartphones.

Step 4: Create a Username

A username is a URL where people can find you on Facebook. You can select a username upto 50 characters long but be careful while choosing it. Make sure your Facebook URL gives sufficient hint about your business. An ideal username can be your business name.

To create a username,

  • Tap Create Page @Username in the left menu.
  • Enter username in the column
  • Once the green tick is visible in the right of the column  (i.e. your username is available), click “Create Username”
  • A pop will appear showing the links people can use to connect with your page on Facebook and messenger.

Step 5: Add a Call-to-Action Button

Adding a call-to-action on your Facebook page makes it easier for your customers to connect with you. Facebook offers 5 types to call-to-action buttons:

  • Get in Touch
  • Learn More
  • Make a Purchase or Donation.
  • Download App or Game

Once you click on “Add a Button” located below your cover photo, a list including all the above five kinds of buttons will be visible to you. Once you click on them, a drop-down will appear allowing you to select more a specific call-to-action button. Explore them and select one that suits your business the most.

Step 6: Add Your Business Details

It’s always good to add explanatory details about your business because the more users know about your business, the more they are likely to stick around. So always add details like:

  • Description
  • Location
  • Categories
  • Contact
  • Hours
  • Website and more

To add a description tap on “Add a short description prompt”. Here you may write 155 characters long description of your business. You can fill the rest details by clicking on “Edit Page Info” in the top menu. In this menu, you can fill all the relevant information about your business like a lengthy business description of 255  characters,  categories, phone number,  website, email, location, business hours, price range, privacy policy link, and more. So make sure you fill all the necessary details that relates to your business.

Step 7: Publish Your Page

Your page will not be visible publicly just by add profile pictures and other details. Once you’ve completed all the above steps, hit the green “Publish Page” button present at the left – hand menu under your username.
If you can’t find it, you can publish your page by:

  • Clicking on “Settings” on the top right of your page
  • In general, tap on “Page Visibility”
  • Change the settings, by clicking on “Page Publish”
  • Click “Save Changes”
